This place is horrible. As soon as I walked in, I was concerned. I should have left, but my kids were tired after an 8 hour car drive. I just wanted a decent dinner, so we could get back to our hotel. The place was not busy. It looked really old and run down. Our waiter took our order and came back 4 times to ask us more questions about our order. It took an hour for our food to arrive, and the order was wrong. We didn't complain, because we couldn't wait any longer. During my meal, I noticed the manager being called to 3 other table (not the same waiter) with complaints. None of us liked our meals.

I arrived around 12:10 today, a little worried there might be a church crowd to contend with, but the restaurant was only about 1/3rd full. The host seated me right away and then I had to wait about 15 minutes for my server to acknowledge me. He walked by me at least a half dozen times before finally saying, "Has someone helped you yet?" When I said no, right away he asked what I'd like to drink and it took about 10 minutes to get the Rolling Rock, but by that time I figured out he had the large 12- or 13-top near me. Alright. That can slow you down. I was reading a pretty good book, and finally had my cold beverage, so I can chill for a little while. I ordered a mushroom and swiss burger, and then proceeded to get half my book read because after 45 minutes, and the restaurant no busier, I had no food. I should have left when I noticed that my server made a mistake with the large group's checks and that caused a total backup at the register. At some point I started to see that others ahead of me were getting their food. I also saw 2 people send some food back who said it wasn't good. Ugh. Should I go? Yeah. If I think that, I should probably go. My server took so long at the register that I thought that if my burger was done, it's been sitting under the heat lamp getting less and less appetizing. Should I go? Yeah. Should have gone then. He finally came back around and said, "You don't have your food?" "Nope. I don't have my food." He walks back to the kitchen. Comes back and said they lost my ticket. B.S. they lost my ticket. I saw lots of other food come out. Whatever. I gave him 3 bucks for the $2.49 Rolling Rock and said I had to go. It was 1:40. I don't really blame him. He was nice enough, but the management there was either non-existent today, or completely clueless. Train your employees to help each other out, check on their tables, and efficiently make corrections on the register. Complete C.F. today.

Went on a weeknight and they were not busy at all. We water at the front for over 5 minutes before being addressed by staff. Finally got a table, it was so sticky that I could not place my arms on it without having to peel them off! Gross... Ordered the Texas rose appetizer and it never came out. We had to ask for rolls and water as well. We got our appetizer with our dinners and it was burnt to a crisp. My husband ordered onions and mushrooms for his steak which they also forgot. They replaced our appetizer with a new one and we got it at the end of our meal. The waiter said he would take it off our bill but when it came it was still on there. Not sure if he actually forgot or was trying to scam us... Definitely not worth our money or time. Bad service, dirty, and food was terrible... We will not be returning!

Waited to be seated for 30 minutes. Once seated we ordered. I didn't receive my food until everyone else was finished eating. We waited for almost 40 minutes for our check. Terrible service. Subpar food.

I've had positive experiences here the multiple times I've eaten here. Steaks are good, side dishes are tasty. This is good food for a chain restaurant.

This is the lowest rating I've given on any review but I feel I need to explain further.... We received our appetizer before our drinks and had finished our app before we got our drinks. It was around 8:20 pm on a Wednesday evening and there were probably 10 other tables in at this time. Our server clearly didn't want to be there. BUT!! After speaking with Dwayne (the manager) it was evident that he had every intention in making our dining experience wonderful. I don't usually complain because I understand what it's like waiting tables, this needed to be addressed. Once we addressed the issue the mngr did everything in his power to make up for it. We didn't wait long after placing our order for our food and everything was cooked to perfection. I visited with the manager for a better part of half an hour and he explained his intentions to turn things around. He has only been here for a month and a half and has ambition to bring this establishment back to it's full potential. I am truly excited to see what changes he makes! It is evident they are understaffed and that creates a problem, along with finding employees who truly care about their guests. Once they do that, this place will be amazing! Give it a month or two and five it a second chance!

Took my girl friend out to eat and when I showed up to Lone Star we where completely ignored and no one served us. Worst customer service in Garden City by far. Don't waste your time and money.

This is a Chain Restaurant, yes it is in the heart of beef country, but it is still a chain restaurant. Once you grasp this the food isn't horrible, it is good, not great but good. I always go for the Baked Sweet Potato. The wait staff has always been friendly even when we took my son (at the time 18months old). Nobody rolled their eyes or made comments we could hear about the small child. Overall good experience at a Chain Restaurant, if this was a "mom and pop" place, then yes I would rate it lower and complain more. I enjoy my steaks rare, medium rare is still cooked too long to truly enjoy a good steak. Some of the steaks are over seasoned or smoked and that is all you can taste, but again it is a chain. I have never had a steak I wanted to send back here. I have enjoyed every meal. Unless I can find a hole in the wall that cooks better than my family does, then I am fine frequenting this chain when I am in town.

This place has gotten so much better! Whatever they are doing, its working. Used to be terrible service and food was ok but the GM has really turned it around! Had a wonderful steak that was cooked to perfection and the waitstaff was wonderful and actually cared for their tables! The managers even checked on my family!

Lonestar has a well deserved bad reputation. This place looks nice on the outside, but has the same bad food and service on the inside. Pet peeve is serving a cheap cut of meat as center cut sirloin. For a place claiming to specialize in steak - inexcusable. Service - clueless. Food - cold. Presentation - amateur. Need to shut this place down and try again.

This place had terrible service, sub par steaks and food, and premium prices. There's a much better steakhouse down the street. Waited 20 mins to get a drinks and salads. Nothing came to the table together and no bread was ever served, even after we asked for it.

This review is for May 31. Competent service, tasty food. No complaints. OK, maybe one tiny complaint. The waitress rattled off the types of potato--baked, mashed, sweet potato fries . . . I interrupted her to tell her I knew I wanted the sweet potato fries; I love them. Oh, no, she said, it's a baked sweet potato or french fries. A lot of people misunderstand that, she said. They shouldn't toy with us like that.

Bleh. Avoid at all costs If you are going to be a steakhouse, at least know how to cook steak. If you are going to have a steakhouse in the heart of beef country, it better be good steak. Visited on a Tuesday night, kinda late but they still had over an hour before closing. Hostess was indifferent to seating. Many employees walking around talking to each other despite there being many customers. Sat at a booth near the bar. (The bartender served me and she was very nice and helpful) They were featuring their "Signature Smoked Sirloin" so i figured i would give it a try. Medium rare (as a steak should be enjoyed) with broccoli and a baked potato. Did not try the "Texas Rice" and having lived in Texas all my life, i have never heard of "Texas Ride" anyway. Dumb marketing people making stuff up. Anyway got a beer (Amber Bock) and it was flat. Steak came. Smoked is an understatement. It was so smoky as to be inedible. AND it was seriously rare. Choked down a couple of bites then sent it back. Cold, red and bloody. Manager came over and apologized ... Got a regular sirloin instead, medium rare as well. #0 minutes later the steak showed up. WELL DONE. As in completely cooked, no pink at all. Tough, chewy, also inedible. By this time, i had already eaten the small baked potato and the broccoli (Both of which were good, but both of which are really hard to screw up too). The bartender came back, apologized (But did not deduct the sirloin). By this time i was pretty miffed so i just paid it (with a nice tip) and left. I basically paid $20 for a flat beer, baked potato and broccoli. If i could give it 0 stars, i would.

Lone Star used to be a pretty good place to eat... Then they remolded the whole place and everything went downhill. Instead of cool Texas-theamed lights and signs everywhere, the place is empty, like seriously. There are three or four black and white pictures on the beige wall and that's it. The wall separating you from other customers was lowered so now the is no privacy between your table and the whole entire restaurant. The food even went down hill. I used to get Cheese Fries on a huge plate and split them with the whole table. Now a small lump of fries sit on a big rectangular plate. Food, atmosphere, service-everything is worse now. Won't be back.

I have been there twice in the last couple of months and the quality of food is not the best. Today I ordered the Pork Chop and it was so overcooked it was black on the bottom. The chili was basically hamburger with a few beans. I agree with the prior review that the smoked steak was less than desirable. I would not recommend this place unless there is major changes.

Good grub for a chain.

Bloomin Onion overcooked. Don't get the fish. Steak is ok. Service was excellent.
